Photo Blog: Food Cravings

Warning: What you are about to see may cause drooling. If you’re hungry, I suggest you read this later after you’ve eaten but if you wish to torture yourself then keep on reading and enjoy!

Lately, I’ve been craving a variety of foods coming from all over the world. Some of them are either expensive, hard to find/not available where I am in the world, or laborious. So I’ve decided to make an entry and share my misery to other people. Let’s start!

Pastrami Sandwich – The first time I had this was during my vacation in the US. Before going to a museum with my cousins, we had lunch at the Yard House and I ordered a pastrami sandwich out of curiosity. I’ve only seen and heard of it from the food channels that I’ve been watching so I wanted to try it. After my first bite of the sandwich, I fell in love with it. I’ve been trying to find a restaurant here that serves yummy, authentic pastrami sandwich but so far none of those I’ve tried have satisfied me.

Samgyupsal – It’s just a thin slice of pork seared to perfection on a grill but how you eat it is what makes it interesting. You can dip it in a sauce, eat it with rice, wrap it up in a lettuce or have it as it is. It’s been a year since I’ve dined-in a Korean restaurant with friends and ordered this. I might grab some slices of this next time I get to visit a Korean grocery.

Bagnet – Simply put… It is unhealthy but I don’t care cause I’ll die happy after eating this.

Chicken Curry – It’s been a few months since I last had eaten curry. Ever since I woke up this morning, I’ve been craving for this. *drools*

All the fried goodies of this store in HK – Discovered by my sister during her last visit in HK, she raved about this corner store that sells delicious fish balls, fried octopus, lobster balls, hungarian sausage, fried stuffed tofu, etc. When I got to go on vacation in HK last June, it was in my to-do list that I find this store and try their food. Luckily, it was near our hotel, about 10 minutes of walking. As you can see on the picture above, the store is flocked by many and based on the look of my cousin and my face, it’s that good. For HK$9 per stick, it’s delicious and cheap.

Katsudon – Back in high school, every friday after class, my friends and I would hangout at Kamirori, a Japanese restaurant near our school and I would always order Katsudon. Out of all the Japanese restaurants I’ve tried, Crazy Katsu has the best Katsudon, in my opinion. It’s one of my comfort foods.

Steamed Salmon – Just so I have something healthy on the list.

Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream – What’s a meal without a dessert? I love their New York Super Fudge Chunk! Hope they open a store here soon.

*wipes drool off chin*

And there you go, ladies and gentlemen.

*stomach growls*
